Chief Marketing Officer needed for a Global Leading Financial Services Organization.

This role is responsible for both brand and product marketing of globally, working closely with the CMO also based in London, with the Back Office team in India and the corporate marketing shared service in India.

Success is measured primarily by new account revenue (for brand marketing) and product licence revenue (for product marketing), working in collaboration with the sales, pre-sales and service delivery teams globally and product, quality and Back Office teams mostly in India.

Requirement:

  • Creating and executing approaches for delivering an excellent brand perception both in the market and internally based on the focus and corporate strategy provided by the Executive, that leads to enhanced number and value of deals.
  • Strongly reinforcing and visibly being an ambassador for the division's desired brand promise, playing a key part to ensure the whole organization knows how to embody those messages.
  • Understanding the competitive landscape and the value proposition of all the products and ensuring the above messages show "clear blue water" against the competition. Having a deep knowledge of, and opinions on, transaction banking products and their value.
  • Creating and executing approaches (including collateral and "canned" demo), working with the product managers, that lead to conviction in the market and internally for why our products benefit clients and are worth a premium price.
  • Maximising the impact of good news, especially gaining and leveraging client references, and also for Front Office products references from our clients' clients, both in terms of business impact and delivery excellence, and especially its impact during sales closure stages.
  • Proposing and executing campaigns that create or enhance leads/opportunities, working with sales in all regions, for specific regions/segments for specific products in response to strategy or opportunity feedback from the market.
  • All content through all channels including web site, blogs, social media, videos, press releases, collateral, awards, invitations, newsletters etc., being in superb, engaging English and all visuals being stunningly professional. A clear understanding of modern digital marketing.
  • Working closely with the PR agency and improve its effectiveness; recommending use of other agencies (as well as or instead of in-house resource) as believed worthwhile for greater impact.
  • Excellent understanding and ability to run Sibos and other events, working with the corporate marketing event team, to close or progress deals and generated valuable new ones. Ensuring market feedback is captured and actioned, eg updating PowerPoints and videos in response to field feedback.
  • Implementing Executive Committee strategy and working closely with the CMO to execute rapidly the many "bright ideas" they generate. Working with the marketing operations team to ensure they focus on the right items to deliver maximum impact.
  • Consistency internally of understanding of all messages, including consistent understanding of brand and product messages, use of company collateral (including PowerPoints, Word documents).
  • Managing a team, currently two people, but that would be expected to grow as success is delivered.
  • Knowledge of the intimate B2B banking market that is business/corporate banking, including good knowledge of payments, cash management, liquidity (sweeping/pooling), trade finance and supply chain finance and modern developments such as virtual accounts and block chain.
  • Ability to work at Executive or Board level, with understanding of how to engender cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Self- starting, high impact and influence. Passion and energy. Self-critical and self-correcting. Forensic ability to debone ideas and messages to simple, compelling form. Superb communication skills, able to work to outcomes without needing high maintenance oversight.
  • Ability to lead and mentor product managers to draw out the most compelling arguments for purchase, and excite them with the final message form (whether paper, video, social or whatever).
  • Managing a team, currently two people, but that would be expected to grow as success is delivered. Ability to travel (20-35%).
